BLACKWATER – BLACKWATER EXTRACT
LABEL DESCRIPTION
Animal Wellbeing’s Blackwater extract is a solution that contains organic fulvic and humic acids. When added to water, it helps to reduce the concentration of calcium, magnesium, sodium, and other cation elements in the water column, creating a natural blackwater environment ideal for fish and plant species that thrive in softwater environments. Additionally, it helps reduce the water’s pH, making it more suitable for these species. Blackwater extract has antifungal, parasitic, and bacterial properties, making it practical for fish. It also enhances fish health, colouration and encourages natural breeding behaviours by providing the optimum environment. Blackwater extract is safe to use with shrimp. Shrimp can be sensitive to pH changes, so a slow acclimation is recommended.
FULL DESCRIPTION
Premium Australian-Made Blackwater Environment System
Animal Wellbeing’s Blackwater Extract delivers specialised natural habitat simulation for freshwater aquariums through scientifically selected natural ingredients. Our advanced formula combines organic fulvic and humic acids, botanical extracts, and pH-balancing compounds with powerful water conditioning processes for complete blackwater environment creation.
Natural Ingredient Benefits:
– Organic Acid Complex: Concentrated fulvic and humic acids naturally reduce calcium, magnesium, sodium, and other cation elements
– Natural pH Reduction: Organic compounds gently lower pH levels, creating ideal softwater conditions for sensitive species
– Antifungal Protection: Natural antifungal properties provide disease prevention and enhanced fish health
– Antiparasitic Action: Organic acids create hostile environment for parasites while remaining safe for fish and invertebrates
– Antibacterial Properties: Natural bacterial control maintains water quality and fish health without harsh chemicals
– Breeding Enhancement: Optimal water conditions stimulate natural breeding behaviors and enhance fish coloration
INGREDIENTS
Demineralised water, concentrated fulvic acid (extracted from natural organic matter), humic acid complex (derived from decomposed plant material), natural organic compounds, botanical extracts, pH buffer system.
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
Basic Application: Direct addition to aquarium water
Standard Dosage: 1 capful (10ml) per 100L of aquarium water
Inhabitant-Free Setup: Add directly to recommended levels before introducing livestock
With Livestock: Gradual introduction recommended for sensitive species
PROCEDURE
Calculate aquarium water volume • Measure required dosage (10ml per 100L) • Add Blackwater Extract directly to aquarium water • Distribute evenly throughout tank • Test water parameters (pH, hardness) • Allow 24 hours for full effect • Acclimate inhabitants slowly if adding to established tank
DOSING INSTRUCTIONS
New Setup: Add to recommended levels before introducing fish to create optimal blackwater environment
Established Tank: Gradual introduction with slow acclimation for sensitive species like shrimp
Breeding Programs: Maintain consistent levels to encourage natural breeding behaviors
Water Changes: Reapply after water changes to maintain blackwater conditions
Always test water parameters and acclimate inhabitants slowly
STORAGE
Store in cool, dry place • Keep container sealed • Avoid direct sunlight • Maintain temperature below 25°C • Use within 2-3 years of opening • Check batch date before use • Shake well before each use
CAUTION
Follow dosage instructions carefully • Acclimate inhabitants slowly to pH changes • Keep out of reach of children and pets • Not for human consumption • If consumed, seek medical advice immediately • For aquarium use only • Monitor fish behavior during introduction • Test water parameters regularly • Store away from food and drink • Consult aquatic specialist for sensitive species requirements • Particularly important for shrimp – slow acclimation essential
